Background of the project
Hakutsuru Sake Brewery is located in Mikage-go, one of the Nada Gogo districts known as the top sake-producing areas in Japan. Since its founding in 1743 (Kanpo 3), the brewery has been a major company in the industry that produces sake, mainly under the "Hakutsuru" brand.
The Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum, located next to the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery headquarters and built using a sake storehouse constructed in the early Taisho period, displays traditional sake brewing processes and work details in a three-dimensional manner, allowing visitors to learn about the history and production of sake.
The person who contacted us after seeing our website is a member of the Overseas Business Division. He told us that in recent years, sake has become very popular overseas, and there have been an increasing number of opportunities to exhibit at exhibitions outside of Japan.
For this reason, they thought that if they could give customers a novelty item when they purchased products at the event venue, it would increase the promotional effect, and while they were looking for such a product, their eye fell on our miniature bottles, which led them to contact us.
For this project, we decided to recreate Hakutsuru Sake Brewery's product, "Sayuri," a pure rice nigori sake with a pink frosted bottle and floral design that evokes the seasonal feeling of Hinamatsuri and cherry blossoms.
We were able to receive the actual bottle as a sample, so instead of dyeing the bottle itself in our standard color, we dyed it in our own original pink color, and also used a matte finish to give the bottle surface a matte finish in an effort to faithfully reproduce the bottle.
After seeing the final prototype sample, the person in charge was pleased with it, and it turned out to be a highly accurate finish.
However, during mass production, we encountered problems with the printed labels on the bottles, such as labels peeling off from the bottles, which caused a great deal of inconvenience and for which we are very sorry. Despite this, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generous support and cooperation until the very end, and for your assistance in introducing the case studies.
We will use this experience as a lesson to continually strive to improve our quality and continue working to regain the trust of Hakutsuru Sake Brewery.
