Could you tell us the reason for the commercialization and the background of your request?
We connect Tokyo and Kanagawa with various networks, such as the Toyoko Line that connects Shibuya to Yokohama and the Meguro Line that connects Meguro and Hiyoshi.The vehicle has long adopted many epoch-making technologies such as weight reduction and regenerative braking, and in 1976, we were able to win the Laurel Prize from the Japan Railfan Club.
Under such circumstances, I am in charge of planning railway goods and character goods of the Tokyu Group, and to provide railway fans with iron, not as iron, but with the value of gold. Is our mission, and this time the award-winning vehicle will end its regular service this year, so that we can leave a memorial to it and tickle the hearts of railroad fans. I wanted to make a product.
While thinking about what kind of product would be a souvenir that would satisfy our customers, the Laurel Prize emblem attached to the passenger compartment of the leading car of the retired vehicle was made of acrylic, and the person in charge of your company said, "Acrylic. I thought that this full-scale replica would be a perfect souvenir, so I decided to consult with your company to see if it could be reproduced.
Are there any points you were particular about when commercializing the product, such as materials and design?
First of all, let the person in charge of your company send the actual product so that it can be used as a reference for pursuing the quality of details such as the same size, the same font, color and silver reflection as possible when reproducing. I received it.As a result, it was possible to reproduce exactly the same thing, which is visually indistinguishable except for the chamfered corners and the mounting holes.
When I received the sample, I was overwhelmed, and when I advertised it on SNS, I received a comment saying, "I think it was made by the company that produced the real emblem."
It was a proud product that even the Japan Railfan Club, who actually picked up the real thing and saw it, could be convinced.
Do you have any impressions or points that you are glad to ask us?
Even though I asked for it in a hurry, the person in charge of your company responded in detail, so I was able to proceed with the planning smoothly and produce it.
Even for non-standard product planning that is not listed in the production examples and product information lineup, if you consult with your company, they will come up with feasible manufacturing methods and alternatives, so request various other goods. I felt like trying.
