Could you tell us the reason for the commercialization and the background of your request?
The Tokyo Powerlifting Association was established with the goal of popularizing the sport of "powerlifting" in Tokyo and has been running the tournament for over 40 years. With the motto of "creating a tournament that both athletes and spectators can enjoy," in recent years they have been focusing on venue settings in collaboration with event providers so that athletes can take on the challenges in the best possible mood and condition, as well as on PR activities using social media.
Daioh Manufacturing has been helping us with the planning and production of original goods that are full of originality, and this time, the sales representative introduced us to a new product that is attracting attention,Plump Mini Charm" This product is not only cute, but it is also possible to make a small envelope for the package, and it is a very interesting product that customers can enjoy because of its affordable price range due to its mini size and the fact that it comes in a small envelope and can be sold in a gacha style where the contents are not known until you open it. The person in charge proposed this to us with an idea that we would have never thought of, so we decided to ask them to make it again this time.
Were there any points you focused on when commercializing the product?
Round shaped items can be made to resemble "barbell plates," the weight part of a barbell used in powerlifting, and we have previously produced several barbell plate-themed items using materials owned by Daioh Seisakusho.
Each colour of plate has a strong emotional attachment to those involved in the sport, and when making merchandise, we are extremely particular about the design, such as reproducing the colour and the glossiness.
This time, the person in charge fully understood this before we produced it, so we are very happy with the quality of the product, and we think it has become an item that will make anyone who picks it up smile, noticing the attention to detail that only someone involved in the sport can understand.It is a small charm about the size of a fingertip, so we would be very happy if everyone who purchases it would enjoy attaching it to their everyday accessories and showing off their favorite plate color.
