I would like to ask you about the circumstances of your request.
The International Medical Association (IMA) is a student organization officially recognized by Keio University with a history of approximately 50 years. Every year, sixth-year medical students use their summer vacation to carry out international medical activities, such as mobile clinics and health checkups, mainly in South America.
These activities are supported by donations from companies and alumni teachers, and I am responsible for managing income and expenses as the accountant. At the same time, I am also involved in public relations activities through social media and YouTube, hoping to share the learning and experiences I gained locally with as many people as possible and actively share the significance of our activities.
I recently learned that your company is a member of the Mita-kai, and I am deeply impressed by the philosophy of "making connections" that you state on your website, so I decided to contact you.
In particular, we felt that your approach of providing "things" such as excitement and joy through the creation of services that connect people, rather than just goods, was in line with the international medical activities that we aim for, so we asked you for your sponsorship.
We kindly accepted the sponsorship.
Are there any particular points you are particular about, such as material, texture, design, etc.?
I myself am a complete novice when it comes to design and have no experience creating merchandise before, but as IMA is a student group at Keio University, I told them my desire to create a design that made use of the Keio colors and pen mark emblem, and they kindly suggested several design ideas to me.
Furthermore, when we first sent the information for the backing card, it was simply packed with all the necessary information and was therefore poorly balanced. However, they carefully adjusted the font size of the text and the placement of the logo and QR code to suit the keychain.
The result was a very clean and beautiful design that not only highlights the keychain but also effectively promotes IMA's activities.
How was the reaction to the introduction?
I received happy feedback from my seniors, who said, "I was looking forward to getting these goods when I was working in the field."
"The keychain is cool!"
"The guide design is easy to read and very good."
"It has a QR code and is very functional."
"I can't believe I can make something like this!"
It was a huge hit and everyone loved it. I was very happy to see the reaction.
Additionally, this year, the Yotsuya Festival (cultural festival) will be held at Keio University School of Medicine for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are also planning to hold an exhibition at IMA, and we would like to give these key chains to companies and alumni who are always kind to us, so that people who show interest there can learn more about our activities. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of reaction we will get.
Do you have any final thoughts?
We are extremely grateful that you not only designed the keychain itself, but also helped us adjust the layout of the enclosed information for the organization, resulting in an overall wonderful custom-made item.
Not only did the design process proceed smoothly, but we also expressed our desire to hand the gifts over to our seniors directly at the airport when they returned from their summer vacation trip. Despite the short delivery time, they were able to accommodate and deliver the gifts to them without any problems.
IMA is a small group with only three first-year students and five and six-year students, making a total of six people. Because of this, when we create commemorative goods, we have to order in small quantities, and we are often unable to request exactly what we want. However, this time we were very grateful for your flexible support in the form of sponsorship.
Finally, Daioh Manufacturing would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at IMA.
"Through the production of these goods, I was honored to have had the opportunity to learn about the activities and passion of young medical students both in Japan and overseas. I am convinced that your organization's medical support and outreach activities have the power to connect people and spread empathy and hope."
I wish you continued success in the future, and if there is any opportunity to help you again, I would be delighted to hear from you.
