Could you tell us what prompted you to consider making coasters?
The reason I contacted your company this time was because I saw the many coaster print samples displayed in the product information section of your website.
The design was very stylish and memorable, and that's how it all started – I thought, "Wouldn't it be interesting to produce something like this as a promotional item?"
Taito Ward in Tokyo is home to the National Museum of Western Art, a component of a World Cultural Heritage site. As part of its efforts to promote the museum's appeal, the ward was considering practical promotional items. Coasters seemed like a very attractive item because they could be used naturally in daily life and also possess a good design.
We feel a sense of connection to the company located in Taito Ward, as we were able to work together on the production of their promotional items.
Could you tell us about your impressions from the prototype stage to the final product, and any particular points you focused on?
This time, after formally placing the order, we were provided with several prototypes using different printing methods so that we could check the final result.
Specifically, they presented us with samples using sublimation transfer printing, which features a rich color that doesn't allow the texture of the cork to show through, and samples using inkjet printing, which utilizes the texture of the cork with a lighter tone. We were able to actually hold and compare the differences between them.
The three staff members compared the samples and exchanged opinions.
"Which expression best brings out the texture of the cork material?"
"Which of these impressions is most suitable as a promotional item?"
We conducted our deliberations based on these points.
As a result, we decided to adopt inkjet printing, which best brings out the natural texture of the material.
Through this project, it took some time to complete the prototype, but I feel that it was very beneficial because you carefully proposed various options regarding the expression of the name engraving and the balance of the printing, allowing us to proceed to mass production with complete satisfaction. I was also once again impressed by your company's attentive service and high level of technical expertise.
In the future, if we have any opportunities to produce novelty items, we would definitely like to consider your company as one of our options.
